Description
This is the second artwork in my Dodo paleoart series. This one was actually the one that gave me the idea to do the a series on Dodo birds. I created it originally as just pure landscape art, but, as usual, I couldn't help but add an animal. After staring at it for a few hours, I decided that the dodo was the perfect animal for this scene.
The only reason that this was the second rather than the first in the series was due to the really long render time (over 260 hours!!!...huge resolution, lots of fog, wet reflective stones, and about 1.5 billion polys).
The dodo was modeled in Blender then exported to Vue where the rest of the scene was created.

This is beautiful, and awe-inspiring. The atmosphere in the scene is marvellous, and totally in keeping with the bird - or vice-versa! Wonderful! Love the hole in the rock.

This is so richly textured.... your greens blend so well....the Dodo seems to be captured here at the moment in time when she/he is just starting to recede into the distance, into history. Or maybe she just is a bit taken aback at discovering she is being watched! Stunning work. I really appreciate your synopsis about how L-O-N-G it takes you and your computer to chug out your work. Your dedication to your work is not questioned by me!
