Description
The Columbian Mammoth is an extinct animal that inhabited warmer regions of North America during the Pleistocene. Here one stands on a grassy hilltop facing the viewer. Behind it in the distance a forest of trees sports autumn foliage.
The Columbian Mammoth is a bit less popular than it's cousin the woolly mammoth. It's not known though if it was a furry or if it was more hairless like a modern elephant. It inhabited warmer regions. In fact, bones have been found in Georgia not too far from where I live.
