Description
On a misty morning in the Pine Barrens of southern New Jersey, you spot a horrifying apparition. On the other side of a dark creek stands a terrifying creature. It's covered in dark fur, with an elongated animal like head, horn, clawed hand at the end of emaciated arms, cloven hooves, and batlike wings. This is the Jersey Devil for sure.
According to folklore, the Jersey devil is a cryptid that is said to haunt the lowland forests of the state of New Jersey. A local legend, the beast is sometimes known as the Leeds devil. It's said to be the cursed thirteenth child of one "Mother Leeds", born in 1700s. I'd heard of the Jersey devil watching TV shows about folklore. I thought it would be a fun creature to depict, so I did.
