A bay horse with a black mane and tail canters through a foggy grassland.
Today, that is January 31, 2014, is the first day of the Chinese year of the horse, so I decided to create a bit of horse themed art for the occasion. For this artwork, I just wanted a basic brown stallion rather than one of my usual pinto mustangs. I also wanted more of a look of a painting, so there was a great deal more time spent painting the details in this than I usually have in my 3d Renders.
About how I create my artwork:
Rather than traditional forms of art such as painting or photography I use a computer to create my images. It's called 3D Rendering and works like so: I make a scene by sculpting and arranging digital models in a virtual 3D space. After stipulating lighting and atmospheric effects I have the computer create a simulated environment from which I take a virtual snap shot of the scene. About Daniel Eskridge
Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
