Artist's Description
A brown Carnotaurus hunts for prey in a sandy desert. He stands on some large boulders that overlook a dry flat land ringed by large dunes. Clouds are rolling in and this prehistoric hunter is hoping that the rains will fill the dry watering holes and draw a meal out of hiding for him.
The carnotaurus was a carnivorous dinosaur that roamed South America in the Cretaceous period. They are name for the horns on their head which resemble those of a bull and that they ate meat.
A desert was probably not the most likely habitat of this creature, but I was in the mood to do a desert scene, and I thought that the brown color of the dino's skin worked well with the dry brown theme of the environment.
I actually made the skin of this carnotaurus for a video tutorial that I made demonstrating how to re-texture models. You can find the video here: http://goo.gl/IA0xwg if your are interested.
