In a desolate swamp, a desperate battle of man vs beast takes place. A medieval knight wearing chain armor and a bucket helmet holds his sword high preparing to strike as a massive crocodile erupts from the water and lunges as the man. If this knight survives, he will have one hell of a tale to tell about his encounter with a mighty dragon.
Rather than the giant winged beasts that fantasy fans are use to seeing in modern illustration, many of the medieval depictions of knights slaying dragon often depict the dragon as rather small. I often wonder if many of the tales of dragons in the middle ages derive from encounters with crocodiles. In fact, you can check out another work I did based on the legend of the Dragon of Brno (https://daniel-eskridge.pixels.com/featured/the-dragon-of-brno-daniel-eskridge.html) where to body of the "dragon" obviously a crocodile hangs in the Brno's town hall in the Czech Republic.
