Two woman, a lightning wielding sorceress in a blue dress and an armored warrior with a glowing sword, stand atop a boulder on a hill facing a massive red dragon that emerges from the fog in front of them.
This artwork started as a concept design for a fantasy themed roll playing game that I was hired to illustrate a few years back. This work wound up not being in the set that was used and I let it sit for a few years. Recently though, I've been reading short stories about Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser by Fritz Leiber. It was Leiber, in fact, who coined the term "Sword and Sorcery". The stories have me in the mood to do some fantasy work. I found this one on my hard drive and decided to finish it out.
I created this image using CGI and digital painting techniques.
Thanks for looking!
