Artist's Description
A pair of pirate ships sail lazily through calm waters as the sun sets in a cloud filled sky.
I started this scene out just to test out some clouds textures that I've been working on. I thought the clouds turned out pretty well, so I decided to turn it into a nautical scene with a calm sea to reflect the light from the sky.
I created this image using CGI techniques as well as some digital painting applications.

About Daniel Eskridge

Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
