This is a digitally enhanced photograph of the Etowah River made to look like an impressionist painting. I took this photo just west of the Allatoona Dam on a cold spring morning. This is the first rocky section of the river after the dam. Rather than being a set of rapids, it is really a wide but short waterfall that spans the river. The near side of the river is a small park called Riverside Park which is mostly for picnics and fishing. The far side of the river is called Coopers Furnace day use area.
Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
