Artist's Description

A native american man with a painted body, wears a buffalo mask and holds a twisted wooden staff. He sits cross legged in front of a campfire, with the ring around the fire made from human skulls. Behind him, stars fill the sky.

Recently, I read AMERICAN GODS by Neil Gaiman. Throughout the novel, in his dreams, Shadow, the protagonist, encounters a buffalo headed character. Near the end of the book, the character reveals that it is the spirit of the American land. That scene inspired me to create this work.

I created this artwork using a variety digital techniques including 3D digital sculpture, cgi, and digital painting.

Thanks for looking!
