Artist's Description
Your hike through a verdant forest finds you standing before the mouth of a rocky cave. Out of that cave emerges a menacing mountain of brown fur. You seem to have roused and angry grizzly bear. Time to play dead!
Bears are a subject that I've always liked, but have always had trouble with. Most of the time, I wind up throwing out images with bears. I like the way this one turned out, though. Originally, I didn't actually intend to feature a bear in this. I just wanted to create a scene with a cave entrance, but the cave alone seemed like it needed something. So I added the grizzly.

Another magnificent piece Daniel! Whatever you do, if you encounter a Griz, don't run!!! I grew up in bear country in the Rockies and was taught from a young kid - if you see a bear, drop to the ground and play dead. Aloha

Thanks, Heidi!
