"Vampire"
A scene of subtle horror. A large yellow and black spider descends on a strand of web behind an unsuspecting woman. It's falls across the nude skin of the woman's neck and shoulder, and it reaches for her as if it is a vampire in arachnid form.
This scene is actually inspired by an urban legend I heard while growing up. It went something like this: there is species of spider known as a "vampire spider". It lives in a dark corner of your bedroom or attic vent above your bed. Whenever you sleep, it comes to feed on your blood, biting you every night in the same place on your body. Over time you become weak and sickly as it drains a little more from you each night.
There is no such spider, of course. Though there is a jumping spider in Africa that feeds upon mosquitoes that is really known as the Vampire Spider.
I made this image using a variety of digital art techniques particularly 3D rendering, which is a form of CGI.
Thanks...
