While American Indians did have war shields, the more common image of Native American shields is that of the Medicine Shield. This shield is intended for the owner's spiritual protection and it decorated with symbols that represent spiritual strength for that person. Often, the shield's decorations were based upon a interpretation from a Holy Man or Medicine Man after a person completed a vision quest to obtain a spirit name or spirit guide.
About how I create my artwork:
Rather than traditional forms of art such as painting or photography, I use a computer to create my images., It's called 3D Rendering and works like so: I make a scene by sculpting and arranging digital models in a virtual 3D space., After stipulating lighting and atmospheric effects, I have the computer create a simulated environment from which I take a virtual snap shot of the scene.
