Description

A majestic horse with a flowing mane roams through a grassy landscape, with towering, rugged mountains in the background. Lush green trees enhance the natural beauty of the scene under a vivid sky.

From the artist: While I've made dozens of digital paintings featuring horses, this was only my third mustang themed artwork made using traditional media (oil pastels, of course). I decided to really challenge myself with this one by drawing a very detailed work on a smaller piece of paper (9"x13")...oil pastels don't really lend themselves well to small details. Plus, I've had a few requests from collectors wanting some smaller pieces.

The original is a 9"x12" work on archival quality sanded paper made using Sennelier oil pastels. It's been coated with four coats of Sennelier's fixative for oil pastel, then a layer of glossy acrylic varnish.
