Description
A Belgian horse, also known as a Belgian draft horse or Belgian Heavy Draft, is a powerful and sturdy breed originating from Belgium. Known for their strength, docility, and hardworking nature, these horses are typically used for heavy draft work, including farming and logging. They are easily recognized by their muscular build, short legs, and often chestnut-colored coat with a flaxen mane and tail. Belgian horses are highly valued for their ability to perform demanding tasks efficiently and calmly.
From the artist: It is my understanding that one does not typcially encounter wild Belgian horses. They tend to be purely a domestic European horse, but, since I tend to prefer depicting my horses in nature...I decided to make this one wild. Perhaps there is some story about this one waiting to be told about how it found itself free in the wilderness.
Thanks for looking!
