Description
"Winter Fangs"
It's a cold and dark winter day. A blizzard has rolled in and you are lost in the forest, but freezing to death is hardly the only danger you face. A beast of legend has emerged from the blowing snow. A werewolf flanked by two grey wolves stand before you among the trees. One wolf snarls threateningly at you, while the huge lycanthrope gives you a sharp tooth grin. You really should have stayed home today.
Werewolves are, of course, hugely popular in media, but their legend goes back a very long time. Some of the first mentions of such creatures can be found in writing dating back to the early Roman empire. However most of the folklore about werewolves comes from the Middle ages.
After publishing a work featuring a weretiger a few weeks ago, I had a few requests for a werewolf. I decided to make mine a bit more on the feral side. Rather than terrorizing a human settlement, I wanted to create one that had joined a wolf pack instead and ran in the wild. Also, with it be especially wintery this time of year, I felt it would be fun to put them in a blizzard setting.
I made this using digital CGI and painting techniques. The werewolf and wolvers were posed in Daz Studio. Fur was added using the LookAtMyHairPlugin. The models were then exported to Vue where I made the snowy scene. Rendering was done using Vue. I used GIMP to do the post production work.
