An American Indian woman stands next to her horse. In one hand, she tenderly holds her companion's head, and, in the other, she grasps a large, sharp knife. She's dressed in brown deerskin clothes and wears war paint on her face. Likewise, the dapple gray Native American war pony standing beside her is also painted for battle. Both of them gaze back at you intently.
From the Artist: Typically, I prefer to create scenes where you can see the full body of the characters. For this work, though, I wanted to try something a bit different and move in closer, creating almost a portrait. I rather like the way it turned out as it puts such a strong focus on the two.
