Emerging from the smoke, a horrible apparition flies over the battle field. A skeleton warrior with sword and shield raised rides upon the back of a flying dragon skeleton. Both of these wraiths, the human skeleton and the dragon skeleton, fix their glowing red eyes on you as they fly in your direction. Lighting strikes in the distance further lending to the chaos of the scene. The skeleton warrior raises his sword and shield and opens his mouth as if to scream a battle cry.
I was in inspired a bit my the upcoming final season of "Game of Thrones' to create this image, but what really sparked the idea for me to make this was listening to my Pandora channel dedicated to 80's heavy metal music. The covers for such albums were one of the things that got me into art in the first place. Back then the had a tendency to feature the undead in a low key scene with heavy use of black and dark reds.

Daniel Eskridge
Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
