"The Wolf Teaching Man to Hunt"

An American Indian hunter runs alongside a wolf though the dry autumn grass. The man wears hide leggings and a loin cloth, but runs barefoot and carries his spear behind him. His head is shaven and he wears body paint. Beside him runs his companion, a large grey timber wolf. Around them, the is a forest is alive with the colors of fall.

Native American folklore has abundant stories involving wolves. One of the themes is the wolf teaching humans to hunt, and that is theme I wanted here. I put the wolf right next to the man to indicate that hunt together as companions who work together.

I made this artwork using CGI technology as well as digital painting applications.
