Artist's Description
Have you spent too long waiting for the next good wave? Have the seas suddenly become as placid as a mountain lake? Perhaps your offer to the god of the surf was insufficient. Next time bring a better beer for the libation. I'd suggest a cream stout or even a barley wine.
In this scene a couple of surfers sit stranded on the beach by a waveless ocean. Above them resides the great god of the surf, a giant rock statue carved from a porous lava rock. He stands above the waves in a goofy foot stance, looking out to sea.
About Daniel Eskridge
Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
