A black cat corners a little, gray mouse on a rock by a stream in this impressionist, classical styled artwork. The dark feline glares at the little rodent as if to say in his Darth Kitty voice: "There will be no escaping this time!"
From the artist: I had done a few cat themed works featuring an orange cat. I liked the color on an artistic level; however, my family was a bit upset as we don't have an orange cats. We have to black cats. So, I decided that I needed to create a work featuring a ninja cat. My two black cat are meant to be indoor cats, but they occasionally get outside and become the terror of the yard hunting chipmunks, birds, mice, snakes, lizards, and squirrels. Of course, being civilized indoor cats, they don't actually kill these animal. Nooo, they proudly bring them back into the house alive and present them to us as if to tell us that they want to have pets of their own.
The original is a 24" x 18" work on archival quality sanded paper made using Sennelier oil pastels and Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils. The work has been sealed in seven coats of Sennelier's fixative for oil pastels.
