A ship sails the seas on a bright afternoon in the North Atlantic Ocean. Suddenly, the waters become rough and waves begin to rock the vessel. Without warning, massive tentacles erupt from the depths and envelop the boat. The legendary monster known as the Kraken is on the attack. Appearing like a giant octopus, it pulls itself out of the water and onto the ship, seeking out crew members to snack on. This ship is doomed to be yet another mysterious undersea wreck.
The Kraken is a creature of Scandinavian folklore said to be appear like a giant octopus or squid, a legendary monster capable of bringing down ships. Many may think of it as a creature from Greek Mythology, but that is due to the movie "Clash of the Titans". The Kraken, in fact, is a much more recent legend, going back to the 13th century where it was first described in the tails of Norse sailors venturing into the Medieval seas near Greenland.
