A dodo bird stands among some ferns that grow along a forest river. With a brown and white coat of feathers he looks up a bit as if seeing something move in the trees. Behind him the dense green of the foliage fades into the forest mists.
Well he IS extinct, so I can't imagine that this dodo would be too happy, but I've depicted this bird looking up and with a hint of a smile.
I actually made this image several years ago. I didn't publish it back then though as I just didn't like the way the feathers looked. I came across this artwork again recently and decided to give it a second chance. Recently, I got Topaz Impression, a software tool that gives digital images a look of being an impressionist painting. I ran my unpublished dodo image through that and was very pleased with the results. So I decided that it was time for this work to see the light of day.
