White marble stairs lead up to the open Pearly gates of heaven which lead into bright light. A few departing souls turn and wave goodbye. Saint Peter stands before this gate wearing a red robe, and holding a book and key. A bit of plants and flowers adorns the steps, and two braziers atop pedestals flank the white stone stairs.
This work strays a bit from my usual fare, but occasionally I like to try striking out in different directions. I really enjoyed the way I got to work with light in this image.
