Artist's Description
Thunder booms as a wild pinto coated mustang gallops up a grassy hillside. Its black mane and tail trail behind as it dashes through the heavy rain blown sideways by storm winds. Behind it, lightning cracks down from the dark clouds that fill skies in to the distant forest of fir trees.
Here in Georgia, it's early march and the spring has started to arrive. Quite often, this is the season where we get sever thunderstorms. So, I was in a mood to create a stormy scene with a lot of movement and energy, and I thought that a galloping horse was the perfect animal to include to add even more action.
I made this using digital CGI and painting techniques. The horse was posed in Poser then exported to Vue for rendering. The landscape was made in Vue as well. I used GIMP and Photomatix to do the post production work.
