"Stands Alone"
In the middle of a calm lake surrounded by forested shores, a small grassy island peeks above the water. A single pine tree grows from the peak of the tiny bump of land, illuminated by the morning light. Beached on the little island is a Native American canoe, yet no person seems to be there.
I wanted to create an image about a tree, and in order to emphasize that the tree is the subject of this work, I decided to maroon it alone on a tiny island. I decided the scene needed a bit more story though, so I added the canoe leaving the viewer to determine what happened to its occupant.
I created this using digital 3D art applications and digital painting programs.
