Artist's Description
A river otter stands on the shore of a river peeking over the tall yellow grasses alert for any signs of danger.
I've always rather liked otters. They can be found in the lakes and rivers near where I live in Georgia. I have done a few otter images in the past, but it has been a few years and my techniques have changed. So I decided to make a new one. Originally, I made this otter model for a collaborative artwork with another digital render artist Massimo Verona a.k.a. Massi San. You can see that work here: http://massi-san.deviantart.com/art/My-Friend-The-Otter-copy-401083483 . This image really started as a test render for the model, but I thought it made a pretty good stand-alone artwork.
About how I create my artwork:
Rather than traditional forms of art such as painting or photography, I use a computer to create my images. It's called 3D Rendering and works like so: I make a scene by sculpting and arranging digital models in a virtual 3D space....
