Artist's Description
The stag beetle is the largest insect in Europe. The one I depicted here however is way larger than one would really be, but, hey, this is art. I can make it as big and creepy as I want to. For this artwork, I wanted something a bit more design like and less akin to a painting. I wanted to focus on the beetle more than I did in my last stag beetle themed image which was in a deep forest. So, rather than its natural environment, I put it on crawling on a human hand. Now the only question is: is it worth two in the bush? :)
About Daniel Eskridge
Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
