In the snows of the frozen arctic, a team of sled dogs strike a heroic pose...well, with one exception: a brown coated Greenland dog looks more ready to play as it holds a red ball in it's mouth. Behind the huskies the hooded driver of the sled is almost totally obscured by the winter mists of of the Yukon.
It's been a rather warm winter here in the Atlanta area and I haven't much been in the mood for snowy images, but a cold front came through in mid January and the temperatures finally dropped. It put me back in a wintry state of mind. So I decided to go with a REALLY cold looking artwork. It's rare for me to depict domestic animals, but I do so on occasion. I started with all heroic looking dogs in the team, but I decided to lighten it up a bit and have one of the dogs be more of a joker.

Daniel Eskridge
Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
