Sea Turtle, Sand Castle
A green sea turtle moves across the wet sands of a rocky beach towards the ocean. Upon the animal's back rises an elaborate and highly detailed sand castle. It's a bright and sunny summer afternoon and the turtle glances your way. This smiling creature seems to be happy at the complex accessory for its shell.
Whenever I go to the beach, I don't actually make sand castles with my kids, rather we sculpt animals out of the sand. One of the most popular with beach goers walking by is always the sand turtles that we make. Have been to the beach recently, and made such a sand turtle, I decided that I wanted to create a scene with a real turtle on the beach, but with sand sculpting still in mind, I gave him a sand castle of his own.

Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations.
