Sea Turtle, Sand Castle

A green sea turtle moves across the wet sands of a rocky beach towards the ocean. Upon the animal's back rises an elaborate and highly detailed sand castle. It's a bright and sunny summer afternoon and the turtle glances your way. This smiling creature seems to be happy at the complex accessory for its shell.


Whenever I go to the beach, I don't actually make sand castles with my kids, rather we sculpt animals out of the sand. One of the most popular with beach goers walking by is always the sand turtles that we make. Have been to the beach recently, and made such a sand turtle, I decided that I wanted to create a scene with a real turtle on the beach, but with sand sculpting still in mind, I gave him a sand castle of his own.


I created this image using a variety of digital sculpting and painting applications.:


The turtle was sculpted and painted using ZBrush (http://pixologic.com/ )
The castle was made in Daz Studio using Castle Creator (http://IntrovertArtist.com/Castle)
