Artist's Description
Under the deep blue skies of the American Wild West, A Native American warrior rides his warhorse over the grass covered plains. The warrior carries a spear and both the man and horse wear war paint. The horse gallops through the long grass as the man looks out over the viewer. Man and Mustang are ready for battle.
I actually started this work then let it sit for nearly a year. Originally I had the man and mustang placed in a forest galloping over a stream. The image looked cluttered though and too closed in. The galloping horse just looked out of place in the tight confines of a forest. So, I had largely abandoned the work (I actually abandon probably one-in-three works). I came across it again recently through and decided to give it a second change by putting the pair in a very open environment. I'm glad that I did as I really like the result.
Thanks for looking!
