My original idea for this particular artwork was to have a horse galloping across a field, but it just didn’t pop. Then, I remembered going to one of the local orchards here in north Georgia during the apple picking season. The orchard had all sorts of events going on. One of them was a pig race. So I had the idea of replacing the running horse with a running pig. The scene almost immediately brought a smile to my face. So this became the latest in my pig art series.
Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
