Three brown rabbits dash across a field lined with dark fir trees. In the early winter, a light snow broken by patches of brown and yellow grass covers the ground, while dense, dark clouds fill the sky. It is a cold and blustery scene, yet, as these three speeding bunnies race past an old oak, they kick up a shower of the loose powder in an exhilarating race.
I have a lot of rabbits living in my yard. Though they are a bit of a pest in the garden, they can be rather fun to watch playing in the grass outside my window. After seeing a bunch scatter recently as I went out to retrieve the mail, I decided to do a rabbit themed artwork with a lot of action in it. I've been doing a lot of fall images lately and have burnt myself out on warm autumn color a bit, so I wanted this one to be much colder in tone. So I dominated this image with greens, blues and cooler browns.

Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations.
