A majestic bull moose runs through a vibrant, late autumn forest. Though the first snows have fallen, the foliage of these woods are still filled with the shades of orange, yellow and brown of fall. As the mighty animal runs, it kicks of a spray of light snow.
From the artist: this is my first moose themed work I made using traditional art materials. My goal for this was to create a scene themed on North American wildlife during a very specific time of year: the late fall transitioning to winter. I decided on a moose as I wanted a larger animal, but I wanted a change from the big cats and wolves that appear in much of my oil pastel works.
The original is a 24ā x 18ā work on Uart sanded paper. It was made using Sennelier oil pastels with some Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils used for details.
Thanks for looking,
