Artist's Description

On a misty morning, a grey woolly mammoth trudges through the snow and grass. He looks a bit annoyed that you are in his way.

Woolly mammoths were cousins to elephants that roamed both Northern Europe and North America. These magnificent animals went extinct around ten thousand years ago. The reasons for the extinction have not been agreed upon and may be attributed to climate change as the ice age ended or overhunting by prehistoric humans.

About Daniel Eskridge

Daniel Eskridge

Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
