Out of the swirling snow trudges a massive hairy beast. The woolly mammoth is one of the best known of the Pleistocene megafauna. He's also one of my favorite subjects for paleoart.

I created this image using digital techniques. This is actually an image I made many years ago using a rather old model for the mammoth. I found it while cleaning up my harddrive and decided to see what I could do with it. I decided to give it an expressionist treatment using some digital painting techniques to make up for my older style.
