Artist's Description
Like that old guy who lives down the street and constantly yells at kids to get off his yard" " this hippo can't stand to have birds floating on the surface of his lake. He lunges up at a pair of sea gulls from beneath the surface and chases them off.
This image was a bit of an experiment for me as I wanted to display viewpoints both above and below the surface of the water" " kind of like a Wyland (rather famous marine life artist) image.
About Daniel Eskridge
Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
