Artist's Description
This is a digitally enhanced photograph of the base and roots of a couple of pine trees along the shore of Lake Allatoona. The lake lies a half hour drive north of Atlanta, Georgia. I took this picture on a spring day after several weeks of heavy rain. As a result of the rain the lake was flooded. The tree on the right is normally on dry land, but the rising waters had turned it into a tiny peninsula.
About Daniel Eskridge
Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
