Description
In this impressionist artwork, a Kiger dun mustang stands atop a rocky, snow covered rise. The horse gazes over a winter valley towards jagged, snowy mountains in the distance. Puffy clouds drift in the sky overhead. A strong breeze blows causing the horse’s mane and tail to whip in the wind.
From the artist: One of my daughter’s favorite movies is “Spirit”, and animated feature about a horse in the American Wild West. She was watching it one day, and I realized that I didn’t actually have a Kiger mustang among my artworks. So, I decided to give one a go. Having got a lot of requests at my last show for originals featuring horses, I decided to make this one using oil pastels, rather than going digital.
The original is a 20”x16” work on sanded paper made using Sennelier oil pastels.
