Artist's Description
Typically, when multiple species appear in paleoart, all of the animals depicted are extinct. It's easy to forget that some of the species that exist today have been around long enough to have crossed paths with some of those vanished ones. However, seeing as how Ive seen housecats take on black bears, I think that this is easily a likely ice age scenario where the smilodon is just trying to run the bear off.
