A woman in a flowery dress flies a brightly colored kite from atop a grassy hill full of spring wild flowers. The kite is diamond shape with a tail of red ribbons. The springtime winds that lift the kite also picks up the folds of the dress and the woman's long brown hair. A few puffy white clouds drift lazily through the deep blue of the sky.
With winter ending here, I felt like making an artwork to fit the season. Where I live, people flying kites is a sign of spring. In the metro Atlanta area, March and April about the only time of year when the winds are right for it.
About how I create my artwork:
Rather than traditional forms of art such as painting or photography, I use a computer to create my images., It's called 3D Rendering and works like so: I make a scene by sculpting and arranging digital models in a virtual 3D space., After stipulating lighting and atmospheric effects, I have the computer create a simulated environment from which I take...
Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
