Artist's Description
Amid the Rocky Mountains in the American wild west, and Elk with shaggy brown fur and huge antlers stands in long golden grass. From the vantage point of the slope, this majestic bull looks out into a valley beyond which jagged snow covered peaks rise into a moody gray sky.
I've created several deer themed images as well as a few featuring the Irish Elk (which is extinct and was a different species from modern elk). I even have one image featuring a white elk in the distance, but this my first close up image of an Elk. I find that I really like the various shades of an elk's coat.

About Daniel Eskridge
Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations.
