Description

The Devil's Race Course Shoals is a set of rapids on the Chattahoochee river in Georgia on the north side of Atlanta. It's a popular place for kayaking, canoeing, and fly fishing.

I took this photograph in the fall of 2021 while hiking alongside water on the West Palisades trail in the Chattahoochee Recreational National Park Area. This is from the top of the shoals which are some distance off towards the middle of the river. It's a nice bit of nature and wilderness in the middle of a big city and one of my favorite trails along the Hooch.
