Artist's Description

Here be moonshine. In a dense forest with moss covered trees, a moonshiner has constructed a still from stone, copper, and a couple of wooden barrels. This apparatus is for making illegal, back-woods whiskey. It's a common part of the culture of the southern Appalachian mountains.

Somewhere nearby a fresh mountain stream meanders through the woods nearby giving off a morning mist. The shallow creek is an important resource for the bootlegger, providing water both the mash in the pot and way of cooling the coil in the condenser. The dense forest provides a cover so that the illegal activity is hidden from the authorities.

About how I create my artwork:

Rather than traditional forms of art such as painting or photography I use a computer to create my images. It's called 3D Rendering and works like so: I make a scene by sculpting and arranging digital models in a virtual 3D space. Daniel Eskridge

Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
