Artist's Description
On a hillside somewhere in the wilderness of the American Wild West, a powerful warrior horse stands among long grass gazing down the slope. A thick fog has rolled in obscuring the dark fir trees in the background. The cold winds blow harsh through the painted dapple gray's dark mane and tail.
From the artist: I created this in January of 2022. We had a foggy morning one day, and I was looking at the way the trees in my neighborhood faded into it. It gave me an idea to create this landscape with fir trees getting lost in the fog. Needing a subject, I decided to add one of my ever-popular warrior horses. Lately, I've really been into the dapple gray coat, so I picked that one for this work.

About Daniel Eskridge

Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
