This strange looking creature might remind you of the Jabberwocky, but like many of my other paleaoart oddities, it was once a real creature. Citipati, whose name means 'Funeral Pyre Lord', was a dinosaur of the late Cretaceous period about 70 million years ago. It was about the size of an emu and exibited very birdlike qualities and behavior. Fossils for this oviraptorid were found in Mongolia.
Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
