Artist's Description
A very strange creature stands before you. With the body and head of a lion, it has a goats head sprouting from its back, an its tail is a snake. It looks down upon you with a threatening glare from atop a large boulder. Meet the Chimera.
In Greek mythology the chimera was a monster that was a mix of lion goat and snake and lived in Lycia in Asia Minor. Chimera now means anything cobbled together. 3D Rendering.
I first learned of this creature as a kid reading a book on popular mythology, but I also remember it being a monster in Dungeons and Dragons (where it had wings and a dragon's head as well as that of a lion and goat). Here, I've tried to keep it traditional with the original description from Geek mythology.
Thanks for looking!
