Artist's Description
A female centaur, half horse half woman, known as a centauride stands on a grassy hill staring in your direction. With bow in hand she is a depiction of Sagittarius. 3d Rendering
A few weeks prior to creating this work, I had finished an artwork depicting a male centaur for my Greek Mythology series (https://daniel-eskridge.pixels.com/featured/centaur-daniel-eskridge.html). In doing the research for the description of that work, I came across the centauride, the female of the centaur. The name centauress can also be used, but centauride seems more proper. They are apparently depicted frequently in ancient Greek and Roman mosaics.
Thanks for looking,
Daniel
