A great blue dragon stands atop a rock high on a cliff. As smoke drifts from its nostrils it sniffs the air for any scent of prey (or fair maidens). It flexes is massive leathery wings ready to take to the air. Behind it the landscape stretches to snow capped mountains while wild clouds fill the sky.
In the world of the RPG Dungeons and Dragons, blue dragons were the second largest of the chromatic (evil) wyrms. Rather than spitting fire, they had lightning breath, though I still prefer to make mine a fire breather (hence the smoke).
I rather like the way the beast's blue scales work with the blue patches of sky peaking through the clouds.
About how I create my artwork:
